How I Raise My Vibration

In order to receive all the good you’re asking for, raising of your vibration is a necessity.  You can ask for all you want, but you must be tuned into the appropriate frequency to receive.  I’ve been fortunate enough to be tagged by Cardin at OptimistLab to share how I raise my vibrations through the High Vibes game, and help promote new social bookmarking site High Vibe It.  High Vibe It focusses on uplifting stories and articles.  I love it’s premise that it plans to turn the tables on most of mainstream media which profits from our fears and insecurites, preferring to empower us with positive stories.

 So let’s get on with my favourite vibration raising methods:

Yoga

Love it, really love a good session of hatha yoga where I push myself followed by a long relaxation.  Sometimes during the session, I feel like I’m going to die!  But when it’s all over I feel very serene, sleep like I’ve been drugged and wake up afresh with a spring in my step.  The following day I feel fantastic, I walk tall, my posture is great and my shoulders relaxed.  I cannot speak highly enough of yoga.

Running

I’ve recently started running again and will keep it up long-term this time.  I running with a women’s running group and we generally run around 5k twice a week.  Getting into it was tough this time, but once I was over the physical pain, it’s been awesome.  We run in parks, woods and on the road a little.  It is great to be out in nature on a Saturday morning and a great way to start your weekend.  I particularly love running in the woods and feel very at home there.  Having a supportive group helps and we encourage any newcomers too.  Every week, I find I can run a little further or longer without stopping and that really spills over into the possibilities for the other areas of life.  Running also has a meditative aspect.  When you get your breathe you enter a zone where you become aware of only your feet pounding the earth and the sound of your breathing - awesome!

Meditation

Aaaah meditation - I really feel the difference if I don’t meditate for a period of time.  Meditation raises my vibration and recharges me.  I do a number of different types of meditation: silent, crystal, angel, chakra cleansing, hands on Reiki self-cleansing, guided and Wayne Dyer’s meditations for manifestation with the om and the ah sound.  I generally go with how I feel that day and use the one I want.  I always feel better immediately after, have better focus, gain clarity on situations, greater concentration and can see the effect on my manifestations for a good while after.  The best recharger!

Pick a better thought

I got this from Ask and It Is Given by Esther and Jerry Hicks, it’s based on one of their processes in the 2nd half of the book.  Whenever I’m feeling bad about somethin or just a bit low, first I acknowledge and define what I am feeling then write it down.    I then write how I would prefer to feel, usually the difference is vast and I cannot move from my negative place to the positive feeling in a single step.  So I try to move feelings one thought at at a time (for me it can take between 7-15 thoughts) by picking better thoughts to write down that I believe, and resonates with me. 

For example, if I am worrying about money, I may identify that I feel poor and I want to feel rich.  I write both statements down but as I feel poor, it’s hard for me to just flip a switch and feel rich, so I move up the vibrational scale one statement at a time by choosing thoughts of a higher vibration which feel better and resonates with me.  I usually start with I trust in the process of life as that one always resonates with me no matter what, then I could move to I attract prosperity or golden opportunities are everywhere for me or I am magnetic to divine prosperity or whatever statement you believe that is better than the last.  By the end you will definitely have raised your vibration, you may not be feeling rich but you will feel closer to it than when you started the exercise.

Attitude of gratitude

A good way to raise your vibration is to create a list of all you are grateful for and to read it when you need a lift.  A huge part of personal growth is staying present, being happy with where you are now, so a gratitude list is a good thing to create.  Put everything on there from the roof over your head, an income to pay your bills to your fabulous hair - whatever you like just take time out to focus on everything positive in your life right now.  Remember what you concentrate on expands so focussing on gratitude will only lead to having more to be appreciative of.

Shifting my attitude

When the going gets tough it can be easy to slip into victim mode.  A simple shift from “why is this happening to me” to “how can I solve this issue” is a key step towards moving forward and raising your vibration.  In general, stay away from “Why does” “why me” questions and go more for solution-busting “How” questions.  It will set your mind off searching for ways to solve problems and the universe will respond with answers.

Affirmations

Working with written affirmations are an effective vibration-raising tool for me.  If I’m feeling glum or there’s something niggling away for me to explore, I explore with affirmations.  This one takes self-awareness and honesty.  Let’s say I’m feeling fat, I pick an affirmation to write out 10-15 times, like I deserve to be fit and trim.  After writing the first line, I allow my mind to chatter, this allows me to know how I am blocking myself. 

For example, when I write down I deserve to be fit and trim, my mind might say “no you don’t, who do you think you are to think you deserve that etc”.  I explore this negative self-talk and use the necessary affirmations to overcome, writing each affirmation 10-15 times.

Reiki healing (or attunement)

Reiki is an energy healing technique which cleanses and rebalances chakras and raises vibration.  Raising your vibration allows you to recieve manifestations from a higher frequency which is why following a Reiki healing, situations that need sorting out could arise for you to deal with.  

An attunement is a receiving of the Reiki energy to enable people to give Reiki.  It can be a rollercoaster due to the rising of situations you may have been sweeping under the carpet for years, rearing up wanting to be sorted out.  This is the most dramatic way to raise your vibration I know of and life following an attunement can be slightly traumatic.  I liken it to sorting out your closet, it gets messier before it’s tidy again.  However, Reiki is a fabulous agent for change and I would recommend it for anyone serious about their spiritual development.

I got a little carried away there and only planned to give you 5, but these are some of my favourite ways to raise my vibration.  The next part of the game is to share some of my favourite posts from other blogs and tag them to play so here goes:

    Hey Lola

    Yet again another post of your that I find myself very much in-tuned. Yes, running really helps to get me lifted and positive again. Just the other day, I was kind of stressed over my work. Once I got home and though I was really tired physically and mentally, I forced myself for a short 4.5km run. It just lifted me up after that.
    And of course, Reiki helps. I am a practitioner myself. Getting the attunement 3 years ago has been probably one of the most grateful thing I have done for myself. Giving the energy to those around me and all subjects have been very fulfilling.

    Hi Tock

    I agree, running is a def mood booster. I had a day the other day when I was feeling lethargic all day and couldn’t shake it but knew I was running in the evening. Boy did I feel tons better and my mood has lifted from that point.

    Re Reiki, I cannot even explain how grateful I am for going down that path, I’d recommend it to anyone.

    Hi Tock

    Yes I receieved my attunements here in the UK, all 3 from the same Masters as they are like family to me.

    I will post some of my Reiki experiences in time as I have had so many, I don’t even know where to begin. I have learnt more than ever before about everything and am having a brilliant time. I don’t do much hands on healing but give healing in many other ways all the time and incorporate Reiki into my daily life.

    Subscribe, so that you will see the Reiki posts as they come. BTW, there is a little Reiki in all posts, I just may not use the word Reiki that’s all.
