How to deal with ascension symptoms
Acension symptoms are almost like a form of growing pains. To live is to grow and constantly evolve increasing your comfort zone and threshold for life. However, growth can occassionally throw you into turmoil, a place I call “the mess”. It’s all part of the process and good things can come from this mess but when you’re in it, it’s not the greatest feeling. When it passes and the calm, newly reorganised self surfaces it’s one of the best feelings in the world.
There are probably hundreds of ways these symptoms manifest themselves, some of the ones I have encountered are depression, weight gain, sweating, lightheadedness, inability to communicate properly, allergic reactions, aggression, moodiness, irritability, isolation, fatigue, foggy head, lack of clarity and focus. There is a link to a list of spiritual awakening symptoms on this post.
When I first started with self and spiritual growth work it was an absolute rollercoaster, I’d have weeks of amazing highs where I was bouncing off the walls followed by extreme lows, sort of like depression. I felt all the emotions and wallowed in the low ones, but the constant up-down-up-down was so tiring, I was burning out every 2-3 months!
It has taken me 2 and a half years to work out that these were part and parcel of a raising of the vibration. As great as this realisation was, I still didn’t appreciate feeling crap every few months so have been working on ways to ease the discomfort. I must say, the discomfort is a whole lot better now but not 100% gone, maybe it can’t go 100% but I’d like to share with you the ways I’ve found to deal with these acsension symptoms.
Stay conscious - watch your thoughts
A lot of these symptoms are caused by your resistance to growth or a new way of doing things. These periods can be a great time to identify saboteurs to your behaviour. Just stay conscious and without judgement, watch your thoughts. Simply watch them and be aware of what’s happening in your mind. These thoughts have a lot more power when you are unconscious and they are automatic, so simply watching them takes away some of their power.
Be present with and guided by your feelings
If you feel tired, go to sleep. If you feel you are gaining weight, eat light and fresh food or food in moderation. Not listening to what your body wants can be another form of resistance. The same applies for feelings, if you feel trapped emotion put on a good weepy film and cry. Feeling restless, get out into nature and have a walk or run.
Do not suppress with food, drugs or alcohol
When the discomfort passes you will be left with a bigger comfort zone that can handle a lot more from life. This is a great thing as the process you have just been through came about due to the comfort zone not being big enough for what you needed in the first place. If you suppress this process with food, drugs, alcohol or another vice you will prevent growth and your comfort zone will stay at the same size. The next time something occurs for which your comfort zone is not big enough, you will feel the same discomfort and if you suppress again with vices, your comfort zone will remain the same size and this is how cycles happen. The vices allow you to bypass the discomfort and halt the process from which you would most benefit.
The thing is, with vices you know what you will get as “the more you do of what you’re doing, the more you get of what you’re getting”. So if you want to break the cycle, try something different.
Allow the process
All of these methods are ways of allowing the process, which is what needs to happen. There’s growth in those processes you know!
Get clear, remove blocks
As mentioned earlier, resistance causes more discomfort. This resistance will be unconscious so you may need to root out this automatic resistance to growth and remove or overwrite. By getting clear, you allow more of the good stuff to flow to you. Grab a pen and paper and explore the following questions with yourself next time you are “in the mess”:
How do you feel?
How do you want to feel?
What does it mean to you to feel the wanted feeling?
What’s stopping you?
When the blocked feeling is identified, where are you expressing the blocked feeling in your life?
Raising of the vibration is a big area in growth so I would be interested to hear of other methods that people use to deal with their ascension symptoms.
In love, light and abundance x x x

Off topic…….
I believe that by just being a part of “Priscilla Palmer’s Personal Development list” suggests that each of us post this list. You like me (Killeris at “Attitude, the Ultimate Power”) are on this list. If you have already posted it, THANK YOU. If you have not posted it, I am officially putting out a challenge that you add additional sites that fit the theme and post the entire list. This is my opinion only. If you disagree I respectfully understand. If you do agree with me this list can be found at: http://mondaymorningpower.blogspot.com/2007/09/personal-development-list-challenge.html
