Do Nothing?

This journey of self-growth really sends you off on a rollercoaster of emotions, you’ve really got to hold on for dear life sometimes.  Waking up to the fact that I can arise each morning full of beans, excited about the day ahead has been a godsend and something that was easy to adjust to.  The only problem now is that I am all too aware of those low mood days when as soon as I open my eyes I hear my inner groan and I don’t know why.

Why the ups and downs?  Why not just ups?  The ups are great, better than any drug on this planet I’m sure.  During the ups life is easy, life is a joy, everything simply falls into place.  You ride the waves, really flow with them and have a real blast.  But occassionally you ride that wave straight into a brick wall!

The stop-start sensations of ascension symptoms can strike at any time with full effect, but since everything happens for a reason it’s best to roll with it.  It’s ironic really that it feels so uncomfortable, since it’s good feelings that lead you here!  This is a serious and unavoidable part of the journey to self-improvement and I didn’t want to write a negative post so thought I’d share a positive side to this issue.  Please note that discontent generally comes before positive change, so try not to get too bogged down in the feeling of discontent, it’s for good reason.

Doing things while not feeling good does not place you in the best vibration to attract all of the good things you want.  Also, being in this fragile state is not the best frame of mind to dealing with unwanted manifestations  and a downward spiral could easily occur.  My solution during this time is….

Do Nothing

Yes that’s right.  You know how much you can get done when inspired, wait for inspiration and then do it.  Switch off and do nothing.  Meditate, read, garden, knit, watch a film, listen to some music, exercise, deep clean the kitchen or bathroom, do something that is not taxing and you will enjoy or needs to be done but you never get around to it. Use this time, to chill out, de-stress, take a break and get back into allowing mode.  Give yourself permission to do whatever you do when you’re procrastinating.

I feel a bit hypocritical writing this as this is not one of my natural strengths.  When discomfort strikes I tend to keep pushing myself to get things done as I feel guilty if I do not feel I am actively doing something towards my goals.  But what always happens is that the day just doesn’t work out and I reach the end of the day feeling worse as I have tried and tried to do something and have actually done nothing!

The last time this happened to me the metal part of my power supply for my laptop, that charges my laptop, fell off and I couldn’t charge up my computer.  I thought I was going to explode, I couldn’t get on to my computer and didn’t know how I was going to get all my information off it too.  The good news is I didn’t explode, no instead I imploded and became a blubbering victim for the day!

Imagine if I had just gone with the flow and took my own advice ;).  I obviously wasn’t meant to do any work that day or at least not computer work.  If I was on good form I would have recognised that and simply adjusted and gone with it but instead I kept pushing and resisting against everything.

In the end after a few days I found a universal power supply and switched my computer on.  And you know what, no-one died, no-one probably even noticed I was gone and life went on.

Sometimes we go through periods of intense clarity and focus where we know what we’re doing and why.  Inversely we also go through times of fogginess and uncertainty and those are the times for us to do nothing.  Doing something at those times usually results in an unnecessarilly messy and totally avoidable situation which will leave you regretting you even left your bed that day!

So my message today is when you do not know what to do, do nothing; when you do not feel inspired to act, do nothing; when you feel discomfort and you don’t know why, do nothing.

Please note, I am not advocating laziness.  Practise makes perfect so hang in there.

In love, light and abundance x x x
