The good side of the limited mind

My subconscious is going through rapid transition and letting go of old beliefs and concepts that no longer serve me.  Sentimental soul that I am, the death of my old subconscious has got me seeing him (my subconscious is a man) through different eyes.

Ever since I started to consciously grow, I have despised my subconscious, hated him with a passion and seen him as the enemy, the thing standing in the way of what I want.  But now he is nearly dead (In his current form, I don’t want to lose my subconscious mind all together!) I am aware that he is a part of me that I must embrace.  You know the song “You don’t know what you’ve got til it’s gone”, well it got me thinking about the good side of my old limited, self-sabotaging subconscious mind and how he has served me.  This is about gratitude and seeing the whole picture objectively.

So I have decided to start my very 1st meme and the rules are:

  1. Once tagged you must produce a post, with a link back to this post, called “The good side of the limited mind”.  It can be about your subconscious, limited beliefs etc, but it must be about the good side or how it has served you.  I’ve done mine is a letter style but you can do it however you like.
  2. You must tag 5 people to write a post/letter called “The good side of the limited mind”
  3. Let these people know by emailing them or submitting a comment

I’m tagging:

My letter

Dear Subconscious mind (1978-2007)

I would like to thank you for keeping me safe all these years.  You taught me to be tough and to never let people take advantage of me, this probably kept me out of situations where I would have become a victim and allowed me to thrive in aggressive male-dominated industries easily.

You taught me that life is hard, that there is no gain without pain and you have to sacrifice for success.  I actually don’t agree with you on this anymore but acknowledge that I have received a wonderful work ethic from this and that I have pushed myself hard for so long that I know I can do anything I put my mind to.

You taught me not to show-off or act flash and to play my achievements down so that you don’t offend people.  Although, this kept me small it also allowed me to learn humility and helped some people to accept me for me and not my achievements.  It kept me from being arrogant or a snob and allowed me to always remember where I came from.

You kept my feet firmly on the ground and promoted achievement by telling me my actions were not good enough and lucky things happened to other people.  Through this I never had a pipedream of winning the lottery and always knew I would make my own money.  I took responsibility for my actions and liked the fact that everything was down to me, I found it empowering.

You taught me other beliefs that right now I cannot find a good side to.  For instance, that there is never enough time or money and that I do not deserve various things.  However, I hold no grudge against you as I know you’re intentions were good, maybe you thought that lowered expectations protected me.  But I acknowledge you for looking out for me and keeping me safe.

The time has come to say goodbye and for us both to move on.  I thank you for your input into my life so far and for helping me get through so much, but the truth is I will get further from here without you.  I wish you the very best and send you love for the journey ahead.

In love, light and abundance x x x

    Interesting meme Lola

And thanks for personally letting me know you were tagging me. I don’t always find out I’ve been tagged.

I look at it as appreciating how the subconsious part of our egos have served us. Good point instead of looking at that part of ourselves as something that is bad and needs to be gotten rid of.

I’ll get to it as soon as I can and let you know.

    Enjoy your day.:D
