Don’t label me

The more I journey down this path of self-growth, the more I choose not to be labelled. I mean, who am I really? I’m not too sure and I’m comfortable with that, so I do not want to stifled by labels. It’s fun, it means I can do whatever I like, whenever I like. No restrictions of “Ooh no that’s not me” or “I don’t do that kind of thing”, just childlike curiosity and openness. However, this label-less way of life doesn’t go down too well with people that have always known you.

As I change and grow the armour is falling away and it feels great. The armour is not me, it never was me but I once thought it was and so did everybody else. As I step closer and closer to my core I feel completely different, I feel honest, I feel like me, the real me. I choose to identify with my core and not my stuff I’ve used to conceal my core all these years.

This is a part of the process where you feel free, transformed internally yet there are people in your life that still hold outdated ideas of who you are and interact with you accordingly. It’s understandable (as well as a bit annoying!) as people need labels to assimilate you into their map of reality, but it’s just that, THEIR reality! It’s your job not to slip back into old ways (and also not to jump down their throats – you know better than that:))

It works both ways

You can’t be hypocritical about this, if you can change so can others. If you’re feeling judged by old standards, perhaps there’s someone you’re judging by old standards too. Refrain from using words like “typical” and “that’s just what their like” and eventually you will be treated based on you, where you are now.

I had an interesting experience of this recently with my sister. My sister is into personal development too, but in a different way to me. I’m always recommending books that I have found amazing to her and she never reads them. Book after life-changing book and all I get is “I can’t get into it”. Scratching my head I don’t understand, she wants help but doesn’t take it.

Recently she told me of an amazing book she had read and I had no inclination to read it, I thought it was probably a bit basic as she never read any of my recommendations. The other day I picked up this book and I can honestly say I haven’t put it down since. The book is Brandon Bays “The Journey” and it is blowing me away. The synchronicity is amazing, page after page of it. It is the book for me after my recent experience and the divine timing of it is mind-blowing.

Funnily enough my sister got different things out of the book from me but we are both taken and are keen to go on one of the retreats, probably together! WOW – Source is truly amazing!

So, my message today is to lose the labels and give people the benefit of the doubt. When you are labelled, don’t worry, just keep walking your talk and see where you are labelling and let those go too. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain. This time I have gained much more than I could ever have imagined. Thanks sis, thanks Universe.
