Who are you listening to?
I’ve noticed that as soon as you think you’ve got the hang of all your personal development, the Universe decides you are ready to be taken up a notch. Just to keep you on your toes, I get the feeling the Universe doesn’t like complacency.Â
You know how you become aware of your saboteurs and how they hold you back? Well, it seems that they also grow with you and find new ways to get your attention. The smarter you get, the smarter your saboteurs become. The more you are on to them, the more they look for new ways to make their presence felt. One way they do this is to pretend they are someone or something else.Â
Through my recent work on fear, I realised that I hadn’t seen the saboteurs that were running havoc. You’ll never guess who they came in disguise as this time - God! Wow, how clever ay? Well not clever enough…
My saboteurs knew that living an inspired life was important to me so they pretended to be divine inspiration, knowing that I would fall for that. In reality fear was holding me back, but in my illusion I didn’t feel inspired to do certain things so I didn’t. I was manifesting blocks from this fear restricted place and seeing them as signs!
Fear of commitment, which is a fear of success was how I was feeling and manifesting from there was never going to result in anything other than lessons learnt. Now, I’m onto them and busting through them, they currently have no power and things are flowing again in that way that really feels right.Â
How do I know who I am listening to?
If things aren’t flowing right and you have funny physical sensations like fear, anxiety, nerves etc, something’s holding you back. Monitor your self-talk and see what it’s saying. As a rule of thumb, your saboteur will use words like “can’t”, “need” and “should”. Watch for flowery language like “try”, “if”, “maybe” and use more definite words like “will” and “when” instead.Â

Lola,
You are so right that we need to listen to the cues that we are given. We are put on this earth with the ability to flow effortlessly and joyfully through our lives, so any obvious difficulties in doing that are red flags that should not be ignored.
Thanks for the reminder!

Well said Lola. I agree with you. There is no such thing as Stagnation- it is only up or down, left or right.
Blessed Thanks Giving

Lola:
Thanks for the comments guys…
Aaron - I wholeheartedly agree with you. Saboteurs or not, your body never lets you down and will keep niggling away that something isn’t right. We all need reminding now and again or the Universe feels we are getting too big for our boots and bumps us right back down to Earth! :0
Rachel - There really isn’t, we are always moving in some kind of direction, it may not be ohysical movement but we are moving all the same.

I came onto your site from the link at the today is the day blog carnival. Thank you for writing such a beautiful article.
You’re absolutely right - if we listen to our fears, we will never be able to grow fully as people.

Lola:
CG Walters - indeed! Loving your turn of phrase…
Seeker - thanks for the compliment. As they say love expands and fear constricts, so fear is not beneficial for growth.
