Book review: The Garden of the Soul
I want to ask you a question, are you playing the music or are you letting the music play you? If like the majority of us you are playing the music I highly suggest you pick up a copy of The Garden of the Soul by Lynn Serafinn when it is released on April 7 2009 and be inspired to let the music play you.
I have had the pleasure of reading The Garden of the Soul ahead of its scheduled release and what a pleasure it has been! The Garden of the Soul is a book with a highly creative style that allows you to be entertained and inspired in equal measure.
Part autobiography, part self-help, part fiction this book has a deep spiritual richness that can only deepen the level of fulfilment in your life. The book is split into 4 principles; give, receive, become and be, and allows you to take these principles as deep as your level of consciousness allows. You see this is a book for everyone and a book to return to again and again, as it will definitely grow with you.
The story sees Lynn, the Author visiting her ‘garden’ seeking answers. Here she meets 4 flowers that symbolise the 4 principles which guide her to find the answers within her. The answers are weaved into the rich tapestry of her life so far. This is the premise of the book, that we all have the answers inside of us if we just took a look. Since reading this book I have visited my own ‘garden’ and have found new answers that have always been there and I know this is a process that will be with me my whole life.
I urge you to read this book, you will be inspired, moved and I believe we can all relate to the experiences that have allowed Lynn to come to this place and time, when she can share her voice with the world.
On first reading what stood out for me was that sharing our voice is the ultimate gift we can give to the world and that receiving is vital to giving otherwise the only thing you give to the world is poverty. This and many other Truths are to be found in this inspirational and transformational book. And I know the next time I pick up the book, other things will stand out for me. This is a book to definitely have in your collection and an amazing gift for loved ones.
This post is part of The Garden of the Soul blog tour. Yesterday the blog tour was located at Judy Davids Guitarist of mom Rock band, The Mydols, talks with author Lynn Serafinn about the book.
